Birdie's River Bend
Birdie's River Bend is a 12X18 original pastel on UA400 painting of a bison along a creek. This bison series was focused on using the secondary color palette, the idea of loneliness, and bovine anatomy. Bison have long been a subject matter I have studied and painted. Birdie's River Bend features a scene from Jackson Hole, alongside Antelope Flat's Road. A friend and I took a trip out there 4 years ago before covid during spring, not realizing that all of the animals descend from higher altitudes during that time to mate. When we drove Antelope Flat's Road, there were bison surrounding us on all sides. It was a memory I will never forget!
